Privacy Notice

This notice describes our privacy policy. By visiting stevefergusonpec.ca (“our Web site”), you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Notice.

Information You Give Us
We receive and store any information you enter on our Web site or give us in any other way.  You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of many of the features of our Web site. We use the information you provide for such purposes as responding to your requests, and communicating with you.
You provide most such information when you request a lawn sign or make a donation to Steve’s campaign or correspond through the contact devices on this website. As a result of those actions, you might supply us with such information as your name, address, and telephone number, credit card information, and particulars of issues you consider important.
By giving us such information, you consent to our using it in the manner described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us. We will return or destroy your personal information within five days of receipt of your withdrawal of consent.

Use of Personal Information
We use personal information to allow us to respond to your inquiries, provide customized information about political and social issues to you, send out newsletters and other messages including solicitations for money and money’s worth, and personalize your visit to our website. We may occasionally send you details of issues that we think may be of interest to you. If you do not wish to receive such information, please e-mail or, alternatively, when we send you an e-mail, it will contain a provision for you to opt out of receiving any further information from us.

Automatic Information
We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. For example, like many Web sites, we use "cookies," and we obtain certain types of information when your Web browser accesses our Web site. Cookie information, pages you have requested and your IP address may also be recorded by us and/or third parties from your browser as set out in this policy
Examples of the information that the Web site collects automatically include the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; e-mail address; computer and connection information, such as browser type, version and timezone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system, and platform; the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL) clickstream to, through, and from our Web site, including date and time. We may also use browser data such as cookies, Flash cookies (also known as Flash Local Shared Objects), or similar data on certain parts of our Web site for fraud prevention and other purposes. We may also collect technical information to help us identify your device for fraud prevention and diagnostic purposes.

Mobile
Most mobile devices provide users with the ability to disable location services. Most likely, these controls are located in the device's settings menu.  If you have questions about how to disable your device's location services, we recommend you contact your mobile service carrier or your device manufacturer.

What About Cookies?
Cookies are unique identifiers that we transfer to your device, to enable our systems to recognize your device and to provide features such as donation by credit card and pop-up displays.

The Help feature on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. Additionally, you can disable or delete similar data used by browser add-ons, such as Flash cookies, by changing the add-on's settings or visiting the Web site of its manufacturer. Because cookies allow you to take advantage of some of our Web site’s essential features, we recommend you leave them turned on. For instance, if you block or otherwise reject our cookies, you will not be able to make a donation by credit card.

Will your information be shared ?
Information about visitors to our Web site is important to us, and we do not sell it or otherwise disclose it to others, except as described below:

Our Web site is hosted on a server owned by a third party provider. They have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes.

We release personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with law or protect the rights, property, or safety of us or our users, or others. Obviously, however, this does not include selling, renting, sharing, or otherwise disclosing personally identifiable information from you for commercial purposes in violation of the commitments set forth in this Privacy Notice. Any disclosure of personal information will be strictly controlled and made fully in accordance with current Canadian law.

How Secure is Information About Me?
We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you enter.
We reveal only the last four digits of your credit card numbers when confirming an order. Of course, we transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company during order processing.

It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and your computer. Be sure to sign off when you've finished using a shared computer.

What Choices Do I have?
You can always choose not to provide information, even though it might be needed to obtain a lawn sign, make a donation or communicate with us.

If you don't want to receive e-mail or other mail from us, please send us an email with the subject “Unsubscribe”.  If you don't want to receive Conditions of Use and other legal notices from us, such as this Privacy Notice, those notices still will govern your use of our Web site and it is your responsibility to review them for changes.

This licence does not include any resale or commercial, collection, derivative use, downloading or copying of the contents of our Web site; or any use of data mining, robots, or similar data-gathering and extraction tools. All rights not expressly granted to you in these Conditions of Use are reserved and retained by us or our licensors, suppliers, publishers, rightsholders, or other content providers. No element of the Web site nor any part of its content may be reproduced, duplicated, copied, sold, resold, visited, or otherwise exploited for any commercial purpose without our express written consent. Without our express written consent you may not frame or utilize framing techniques to enclose any proprietary information (including images, text, page layout, or form), use any meta tags or any other "hidden text”, or misuse or hack our Web site. You may use our Web site only as permitted by law. The licenses granted here terminate if you do not comply with these Conditions of Use.

Reviews, Comments, Communications, and Other Content
Visitors may post reviews, comments, photos, and other content; send e-cards and other communications; and submit suggestions, ideas, comments, questions, or other information, so long as the content is not illegal, obscene, threatening, defamatory, invasive of privacy, infringing of intellectual property rights, or otherwise injurious to third parties or objectionable, and does not consist of or contain software viruses, political campaigning, commercial solicitation, chain letters, mass mailings, or any form of "spam" or unsolicited commercial electronic messages. You may not use a false e-mail address, impersonate any person or entity, or otherwise mislead as to the origin of a card or other content. We reserve the right (but not the obligation) to remove or edit such content, but may not regularly review posted content.
If you do post content or submit material, and unless we indicate otherwise, you grant us a nonexclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicencable right to use, produce, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, perform, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, communicate to the public by telecommunications and display such content throughout the world in any media for all purposes. You grant us and our sublicencees the right to use the name that you submit in connection with such content. You represent and warrant that you own or otherwise control all the rights to the content that you post; that the content is accurate; that use of the content you supply does not violate this policy and will not cause injury to any person or entity; and that you will indemnify us for all claims resulting from content you supply. Applicable Law and Disputes
Any dispute or claim relating in any way to your use of our Web site, or to any information on it or any communication with it will be resolved by binding arbitration, rather than in court, The Arbitration Act (Ontario) and applicable arbitration law apply to this agreement.
There is no judge or jury in arbitration, and court review of an arbitration award is limited. However, an arbitrator can award on an individual basis the same damages and relief as a court (including injunctive and declaratory relief or statutory damages), and must follow the terms of these Conditions of Use as a court would.
You may choose to have the arbitration conducted by telephone, based on written submissions, or in person in the county where you live or at another mutually agreed location.
We each agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated or representative action. We also both agree that you or we may bring suit in court to enjoin infringement or other misuse of intellectual property rights.
By using our Web site, you agree that the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to principles of conflict of laws, will govern these Conditions of Use and any dispute of any sort that might arise between you and us.
For Quebec consumers: These Conditions of Use and any dispute of any sort that might arise between you and us shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, without reference to its conflict of laws provisions, and the laws of Canada applicable therein, and any disputes will be submitted to the courts of competent jurisdiction of the District of Montreal (Quebec).

Site Policies, Modification, and Severability
We reserve the right to make changes to our site, policies and these Conditions of Use at any time. If any of these conditions shall be deemed invalid, void, or for any reason unenforceable, that condition shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining condition.
